About the Role
As IT Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and development of the school’s IT systems and infrastructure. Working closely with teaching and support staff, you will ensure that all technology resources are reliable, secure, and effectively support digital learning across the school. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripherals
- Provide first-line and second-line technical support to staff and students
- Monitor and maintain network performance, security, and backups
- Support classroom technology, AV equipment, and interactive displays
- Maintain accurate IT inventory, asset registers, and documentation
- Assist with the administration of user accounts and permissions
- Support online learning platforms, MIS systems, and wider school IT services
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience as an IT Technician, IT Support Technician, or in a similar technical support role
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems (Mac experience desirable)
- Understanding of network infrastructure and basic cybersecurity principles
- Excellent troubleshooting and organisational skills
- Professional, approachable, and able to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Experience within a school or educational setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
