About the Role
You will teach Music across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering inspiring lessons that foster creativity, confidence, and musical excellence.
Students explore a wide range of musical genres, traditions, and styles while developing practical performance skills, composition techniques, music technology expertise, and analytical understanding. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Music qualifications, supporting them in achieving excellent outcomes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the school's extracurricular music programme, including concerts, ensembles, productions, choirs, and performance events.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Music across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Music examinations
Support performance, composition, and music technology projects
Organise and lead concerts, ensembles, and musical events
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Promote participation in extracurricular music activities

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Music at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong practical and theoretical musical knowledge
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Music
Experience directing ensembles, choirs, or orchestras
Ability to teach Music Technology
Commitment to developing a vibrant extracurricular music programme
