A welcoming Primary School in the London Borough of Hounslow is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Science Technician to join its dedicated support staff team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical science and wants to inspire children through exciting, hands-on learning experiences.
The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering engaging science lessons by ensuring all practical resources are prepared, maintained and available when needed. Working closely with teaching staff, you will prepare equipment and materials for classroom investigations, organise practical resources and maintain science storage areas to a high standard. You will ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored safely while monitoring stock levels and ordering new resources when required.
The role includes supporting practical activities during lessons where appropriate, carrying out routine safety checks on equipment, maintaining accurate inventories and ensuring all activities comply with current health and safety guidance. You will also contribute to STEM enrichment activities, Science Week events and whole-school projects designed to encourage curiosity, creativity and scientific enquiry. Working collaboratively with staff, you will help create engaging learning experiences that inspire pupils to develop confidence in science from an early age.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, strong practical abilities and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting children's learning through practical investigation.
