You will teach Drama across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students as they develop confidence in performance, characterisation, communication, creativity and critical analysis. The successful candidate should be able to deliver a varied curriculum that includes practical performance alongside written and theoretical work.

Drama Teacher - Performing Arts Department

The Drama curriculum provides students with opportunities to explore performance from a range of perspectives.

At KS3, students will develop core skills including improvisation, physical theatre, characterisation, voice, movement and ensemble performance.

Students will also be introduced to different theatrical styles and practitioners, allowing them to understand how theatre has developed and how different approaches influence performance.

At KS4, students will work towards GCSE Drama and develop their practical performance skills alongside their understanding of theatre and written analysis.

Drama Teacher - Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Drama, Theatre Studies or a related subject

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching Drama at secondary level

• KS3 teaching experience

• GCSE Drama experience

• Strong practical performance skills

• Strong knowledge of Drama and theatre

• Understanding of GCSE assessment requirements

• Excellent classroom management

• Ability to manage practical activities effectively

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to differentiate effectively
