This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys combining strong scientific knowledge with practical, engaging classroom teaching.

You will teach students across KS3 and KS4, helping them develop their understanding of biological processes while preparing older students for GCSE examinations. For the right candidate, there may also be an opportunity to teach Biology at KS5.

The Science department is collaborative and well organised, with colleagues working together to share resources, plan practical work and support student progress. The successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute ideas and become an active member of the department.

Biology Teacher - Experience and Qualifications

  • A degree in Biology, Biological Sciences or a related subject.

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Biology or Science at secondary level.

  • Ability to teach Biology confidently across KS3 and KS4.

  • GCSE Biology experience.

  • KS5 Biology experience would be desirable.

  • Strong practical and theoretical scientific knowledge.

  • Confidence delivering practical Science activities.

  • Excellent classroom management.

  • Strong planning and organisational skills.

  • Ability to differentiate effectively.

  • Ability to monitor and assess student progress.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a Science department.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Salary

The salary for this Biology Teacher position will be paid to scale at MPS1 - UPS3, depending on experience and qualifications.
