A busy school in Hillingdon is seeking an experienced School Administrator to provide support across its administration and reception functions. This is a hands-on role for someone with a good understanding of school administration. You will need to be confident working with pupil information and school systems, while also dealing professionally with parents, visitors and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support across the school.
- Maintain accurate pupil and school records.
- Update the school's MIS/database.
- Prepare letters, reports and professional correspondence.
- Maintain organised electronic and paper records.
- Support meetings, appointments and school events.
- Assist staff and senior leaders with administrative tasks.
- Provide reception and front-of-house support.
- Welcome parents, visitors and external professionals.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to enquiries.
- Manage emails and incoming correspondence.
- Communicate professionally with parents, staff and external agencies.
- Follow school safeguarding and visitor procedures.
- Complete accurate data entry and administrative checks.
- Maintain spreadsheets, trackers and monitoring records.
- Assist with reports and data requests.
- Ensure pupil information is accurate and up to date.
- Handle confidential information appropriately.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working in school administration.
- Experience using a school MIS/database.
- Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Ability to prioritise competing demands and use initiative.
- Professional approach when dealing with parents, pupils, staff and visitors.
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection.
- Experience of Arbor, attendance, admissions and/or working within a SEND or specialist school would be advantageous.
