A highly regarded school in High Wycombe is seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Lead to oversee the school's operational functions and support its continued success. Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders, you'll help ensure the school provides a safe, efficient and welcoming environment where both pupils and staff can thrive.
The Role
As Operations Lead, you'll be responsible for overseeing the school's non-teaching operations, ensuring that systems, processes and resources are managed effectively. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the day-to-day operational management of the school, ensuring services run efficiently.
- Overseeing facilities, estates, health and safety, maintenance, and site management.
- Managing contracts, procurement and supplier relationships to achieve value for money.
- Supporting financial planning, budget monitoring and resource management.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, safeguarding, GDPR and school policies.
- Developing and reviewing operational procedures, risk assessments and business continuity plans.
- Leading and supporting administrative, site and support staff to maintain high standards of service.
- Working alongside senior leaders to deliver strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinating contractors and external agencies to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
- Contributing to the wider leadership of the school through operational planning and problem-solving.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience in an operations, facilities, business or school management role.
- Has a strong understanding of health and safety, compliance and operational best practice.
- Is experienced in managing budgets, procurement and supplier contracts.
- Can lead and motivate teams while building positive relationships across the school community.
- Has excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Is confident using Microsoft Office and business management systems, with experience of school systems desirable.
- Can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrates professionalism, discretion and a commitment to delivering high-quality operational support.
- Has the legal right to work in the UK.
