Working closely with the Headteacher, School Business Manager and senior leaders, you will support the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to staff wellbeing, absence management and personnel administration. You will become an integral part of the school's operations, helping to create a positive working environment where staff feel valued and supported.

This varied role requires someone with excellent communication skills, outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy school setting.

Human Resources Team

The HR function supports every member of staff across the school and plays a key role in ensuring policies, procedures and employment practices are delivered effectively and consistently.

As HR Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating recruitment campaigns and interview administration.

  • Preparing contracts, offer letters and onboarding documentation.

  • Maintaining accurate personnel records and HR databases.

  • Monitoring staff absence and supporting attendance procedures.

  • Assisting with safeguarding recruitment checks.

  • Supporting induction programmes for new employees.

  • Providing first-line HR advice to managers and staff.

  • Maintaining confidential employment records.

  • Supporting appraisal and performance management processes.

  • Assisting with training and professional development administration.

  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and school policies.

  • Supporting wider HR projects and school initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with leaders across the school while helping to maintain efficient and effective HR processes.

Requirements

  • Previous HR or administrative experience.

  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of employment processes is desirable.
