About the Role
You will teach Geography across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that inspire curiosity and critical thinking.
Students will study topics including climate change, ecosystems, rivers, coasts, urbanisation, population, natural hazards, sustainability, and globalisation while developing strong analytical, research, and fieldwork skills.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations, supporting students in achieving excellent academic outcomes and progression to higher education.
You may also contribute to enrichment opportunities including field trips, geographical investigations, and wider humanities initiatives.
You will work collaboratively within a successful Humanities department committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Geography across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging lessons in physical and human geography
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations
Support fieldwork, geographical enquiry, and research activities
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support educational visits and enrichment opportunities

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Geography at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in physical and human geography
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Geography
Experience working in an outstanding or high-achieving school
Ability to lead fieldwork or enrichment opportunities
Strong examination preparation experience
