Are you a creative and confident Year 1 Teacher seeking a Full-Time role from January 2026? A caring Harrow primary is recruiting a Year 1 Teacher to join its KS1 phase. The successful Year 1 Teacher will participate in planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as the Year 1 Teacher. Role summary - Year 1 Teacher

The Year 1 Teacher will lead systematic phonics, guided reading and sequenced writing; teach engaging early mathematics and build number sense; design continuous provision and scaffold independence. The Year 1 Teacher will set assessment targets, run short interventions and contribute to transition planning into Year 2.

Day-to-day expectations for the Year 1 Teacher

Mornings: the Year 1 Teacher leads phonics and guided reading sessions that develop fluency and vocabulary. Afternoons: the Year 1 Teacher delivers creative topic work and practical maths. The Year 1 Teacher will communicate progress to families, run parent workshops and help moderate standards in the phase — all activities starting in preparation before January 2026 and continuing after January 2026.
