A well-run school depends on a site that is safe, secure and maintained to the highest standard. A leading Independent School in Harrow is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estates Officer to join its operations team on a full-time, permanent basis from October Half Term 2026.
This is a hands-on senior position for someone who enjoys taking responsibility for buildings, facilities and day-to-day site operations. You'll work closely with the school's senior leadership and external contractors, ensuring the estate remains safe, compliant and fit for purpose throughout the academic year.
What You'll Be Responsible For
The role will cover both practical site management and wider estates coordination, including:

Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance across the school

Coordinating contractors and monitoring completed works

Managing health & safety, fire safety and statutory compliance

Maintaining site records, inspections and maintenance schedules

Supporting procurement and managing relationships with suppliers

Monitoring estates-related budgets and expenditure

Coordinating repairs, improvements and refurbishment projects

Ensuring buildings and grounds remain safe, secure and well presented

What They're Looking For
The school is seeking an experienced Estates Officer, Facilities Manager, Site Manager or similar professional with strong practical knowledge and excellent organisational skills.
You'll need to be confident managing contractors, prioritising competing maintenance requirements and working within health & safety regulations. Experience within education, healthcare, hospitality or another complex facilities environment would be advantageous.
