A high-performing Outstanding secondary school in Harrow is looking to appoint a committed and knowledgeable Religious Education Teacher from October Half Term 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys making RE relevant, thought-provoking and engaging for young people. Make RE Meaningful
The successful teacher will deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop a strong understanding of religious, philosophical and ethical issues. You’ll be responsible for:
- Teaching Religious Education across KS3 & KS4
- Planning and delivering well-structured, challenging lessons
- Preparing students for GCSE Religious Studies where required
- Encouraging students to discuss and evaluate different viewpoints
- Developing students’ knowledge, critical thinking and written responses
- Assessing progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
- Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom expectations
- Contributing to curriculum planning and departmental development
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the school
The Teacher We're Looking For
The school is looking for a qualified Religious Studies Teacher with strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject. You’ll need to be confident delivering lessons that encourage students to ask questions, challenge ideas and develop well-reasoned opinions. A confident classroom presence, strong communication skills and a commitment to high standards are essential.
