A week as the KS1 Teacher:

  • Mornings (on working days): the KS1 Teacher runs systematic phonics, shared reading and focused writing sessions.
  • Afternoons (on working days): the KS1 Teacher leads adult-led continuous provision, small-group maths boosters and family liaison.

The KS1 Teacher will analyse formative assessment to adapt teaching and will plan for moderation tasks scheduled around January 2026. The KS1 Teacher will prepare resources prior to January 2026 and will begin teaching from January 2026.

Professional development for the KS1 Teacher: Although this is a Part-Time KS1 Teacher role, the KS1 Teacher will be fully included in coaching cycles, CPD days and phase meetings starting with induction in January 2026. The school’s experienced KS1 leadership will mentor the KS1 Teacher and provide a supportive environment for curriculum development. The KS1 Teacher will be encouraged to lead a small area of practice and to share successful approaches across the phase.
