We’re currently working with a well-established primary school in Harrow that is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Officer to join its administrative team from October 2026.
This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day financial administration of the school. You’ll work closely with the school leadership and administrative teams, helping to keep financial records accurate and ensuring payments, invoices and other processes are handled efficiently.
It would suit someone who is organised, numerate and comfortable working with financial information, ideally with previous experience within a school or education setting.
The Role
You’ll provide day-to-day finance support across the school, with responsibilities including:

Processing invoices and purchase orders

Supporting supplier payments and queries

Maintaining accurate financial records

Processing income and expenditure transactions

Assisting with reconciliations and financial checks

Monitoring budgets and expenditure

Preparing financial information and reports

Supporting the school with purchasing and procurement

Liaising with suppliers and external contacts

Maintaining confidential financial documentation

Supporting month-end and year-end processes

Providing general administrative support to the school office when required
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in finance administration, accounts or a similar role and be confident working with figures and financial systems.
School experience would be beneficial, but candidates with relevant finance experience from other sectors are encouraged to apply.
You’ll need strong attention to detail, good IT skills and the ability to work accurately while managing competing priorities. Discretion is also important, as you’ll be handling confidential financial and school information.
