Our client is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Harlow as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Sociology across KS4 and KS5 and will play an important role in supporting students to develop their understanding of society, culture and contemporary social issues.
The department is looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons while helping students develop the critical-thinking, evaluation and extended-writing skills required for examination success.

The Role
The successful Sociology Teacher will be responsible for:

Teaching Sociology across KS4 and KS5.

Delivering engaging lessons that encourage discussion, debate and critical thinking.

Developing students' understanding of sociological theories, concepts and research methods.

Preparing students for examinations through targeted revision and exam technique.

Supporting students with extended writing and evaluation skills.

Using assessment information to identify gaps and plan appropriate interventions.

Providing constructive feedback to support academic progress.

Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development.

Building positive relationships with students and maintaining high expectations.
Experience and Qualifications

Sociology Teacher with the ability to teach KS4 and KS5.

Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the relevant examination specifications.
-
Formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as PGCE.

Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Sociology is desirable.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.
-
Passion for developing students' analytical abilities.
-
Legal ability to work within the UK.
