We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Sociology Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Harlow. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Social Sciences specialist who enjoys encouraging students to question, debate and explore the world around them.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Sociology lessons across KS4 and KS5, helping students develop their understanding of sociological theories, research methods and contemporary social issues. You will be expected to create a classroom environment where students feel confident expressing their ideas while developing the analytical and evaluative skills required for examination success.

This position would suit an experienced Sociology Teacher as well as an ECT looking to develop their career within a supportive and ambitious department.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Sociology Teacher with the ability to teach confidently at KS4 and KS5.

  • Strong knowledge of GCSE and/or A-Level Sociology.

  • A formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE.

  • Ability to develop students' analytical, evaluative and extended-writing skills.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • Ability to create engaging lessons that encourage discussion and debate.

  • Commitment to supporting students from a range of backgrounds and abilities.

  • Legal ability to work within the UK.
