A free school in Harlow is looking for a Computer Science Teacher to provide full-time maternity cover.
The school wants students to understand computing rather than simply memorise terminology. You will teach programming and computational thinking at KS3, with responsibility for GCSE and potentially post-16 classes depending on experience.
Lessons should give pupils regular opportunities to code, test, debug and improve their solutions. You will also cover areas such as algorithms, data representation, networks, computer architecture and online security.
The successful applicant will combine sound technical knowledge with patience and clarity. A relevant degree or teaching qualification is desirable, together with experience of secondary Computer Science.
There is scope to support coding clubs, technology competitions and student projects during the placement.
