A secondary school in Hampshire is looking for an experienced Science Technician to join its science department as soon as possible. This is a practical, hands-on position supporting teachers across Biology, Chemistry and Physics and helping ensure practical lessons are fully prepared and run safely.
The Role
- Prepare equipment, chemicals and resources for practical lessons.
- Set up and clear away experiments and demonstrations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and keep preparation areas organised.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
- Support teachers during practical lessons where required.
- Carry out routine checks and report any issues with equipment.
- Follow COSHH and school health and safety procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a relevant laboratory environment.
- Good knowledge of practical science and laboratory equipment.
- Understanding of safe chemical handling and COSHH.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and manage a busy workload.
- Reliable, practical and comfortable working within a school environment.
- Experience supporting GCSE and A-Level practical work would be advantageous.
