Job Overview

Psychology is one of the most popular A-Level choices at this academy. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, intellectually stimulating Psychology instruction primarily across Key Stage 5 (A-Level), with potential contributions to Key Stage 4 Social Science introductory modules.

Working alongside experienced Social Science colleagues, you will teach key theoretical areas, including memory, attachment, psychopathology, social influence, biopsychology, and research methods. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for a practitioner dedicated to Sixth Form academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach high-impact A-Level Psychology lessons in line with exam board specifications (AQA/OCR)

  • Develop students' scientific inquiry, statistical analysis, and extended evaluative writing skills

  • Monitor, track, and assess student performance to ensure high attainment in A-Level examinations

  • Mentor Sixth Form pupils preparing university applications for Psychology, Neuroscience, and Criminology degrees

  • Lead co-curricular activities, such as Mind & Brain societies, journal clubs, and guest speaker events

  • Serve as a Sixth Form Tutor, delivering pastoral support, academic tracking, and UCAS references

  • Collaborate with faculty members to continuously enhance digital learning resources and revision workshops

  • Support the broader vision and daily operations of the Social Sciences department
