Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
A secondary school in Sudbury is seeking a French Teacher to strengthen its Modern Foreign Languages department from January 2027. The school wants a teacher who can build pupils’ confidence in communication while developing accurate grammar, vocabulary and examination skills.
The Role
Teach French across KS3 and KS4.
Develop listening, speaking, reading and writing through varied lesson activities.
Teach grammar and vocabulary using structured practice and regular retrieval.
Prepare GCSE pupils for written papers and speaking assessments.
Monitor progress and adapt teaching to address misconceptions.
The Candidate
Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Has strong French language knowledge and clear pronunciation.
Can motivate pupils to participate in language-learning activities.
Uses assessment and feedback to support progress.
The Environment
The school promotes language learning, positive relationships and consistent classroom routines. The successful candidate will work with colleagues to support curriculum development and pupil engagement.
