The Opportunity
Wayman Education is urgently seeking a creative and organized Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving Design & Technology department at a secondary school in Hillingdon. This is an immediate vacancy for a specialist who can inspire students through the art of cooking, nutrition, and food science.
The Role
With an immediate start available, you will take over a well-resourced food suite. You will be responsible for delivering practical and theoretical lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), ensuring that students develop both culinary flair and a deep understanding of healthy living and food provenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Practical Instruction: Lead safe and engaging practical cooking sessions, teaching students essential knife skills, heat control, and food preparation techniques.
- Theory & Nutrition: Deliver the GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition syllabus, focusing on the functional properties of ingredients and nutritional requirements.
- Health & Safety: Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and safety (HACCP) within the food rooms, overseeing the correct storage of ingredients and maintenance of equipment.
- Exam Success: Provide urgent support to Year 11 students as they complete their Non-Exam Assessment (NEA) portfolios and prepare for summer exams.

Requirements
