A welcoming and creative secondary school in Wirral is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join its vibrant Design & Technology department. This full-time, permanent position involves delivering practical and theoretical Food Preparation and Nutrition lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

The role is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners looking to inspire pupils in healthy eating, culinary skills, and food science. You will join a supportive faculty with well-maintained practical rooms, excellent technician support, and a collaborative planning environment.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Teaching: Deliver engaging practical cooking sessions and theoretical food science lessons across KS3–KS4, adhering to rigorous health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Student Outcomes: Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition examinations, nurturing both practical execution and nutrition knowledge.
  • Departmental Support: Maintain kitchen equipment, manage ingredient logistics alongside technician staff, and contribute to co-curricular cookery clubs.
