We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Sidcup starting ASAP. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and enjoys supporting young children during their first experiences of school life. The school has a strong Early Years Foundation Stage provision providing a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment where children are encouraged to explore play and develop essential early learning skills. As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of high-quality play-based learning activities. You will provide support to individual children and small groups, helping them develop communication, social, emotional and early academic skills. You will also support daily routines and ensure children feel safe, confident and valued throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the EYFS teacher in delivering daily learning activities
  • Provide 1:1 or small-group support to children as required
  • Assist with planning and preparing engaging play-based learning activities
  • Observe and record children's progress to support assessment and planning
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence
  • Support children with personal care routines where necessary
  • Promote communication, language development and social interaction
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with EYFS staff and wider school team
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies at all times
