Chemistry Teacher Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Chemistry Teacher to join an established Science department and play an important role in students' academic development. You will teach Chemistry as part of the secondary Science curriculum across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The role will involve teaching topics including chemical reactions, atomic structure, bonding, energy changes, quantitative chemistry and other areas relevant to the GCSE curriculum.

The successful candidate will be expected to combine clear explanations with practical opportunities that allow students to apply their knowledge. You should be confident teaching scientific concepts to students of different abilities and using assessment to identify misconceptions and areas for further development. There may also be an opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 Chemistry for a suitably experienced candidate.

You will work closely with other Science teachers to plan lessons, share resources and monitor student progress. The role will also include marking, assessment, curriculum development and participation in departmental meetings.

Salary

The salary for this Chemistry Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
