We are recruiting a Teacher of Business & Economics for a well-regarded independent 11–18 day school in Essex, starting January 2026. This is a permanent role, open to full-time and part-time applicants, with the potential for leadership responsibility for the right candidate.

The Role

  • Position: Teacher of Business & Economics
  • Location: Essex
  • Start Date: January 2026
  • Contract: Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time Considered
  • Responsibility: Possible for Subject Leadership / Sixth Form Coordination

As our Business & Economics Teacher, you will:

  • Teach GCSE Business and A-Level Business and/or Economics.
  • Plan high-quality lessons using contemporary business examples and economic data.
  • Support students in developing strong analytical, numerical and evaluative skills.
  • Prepare pupils for internal and external assessments, including public examinations.
  • Contribute to enrichment such as enterprise clubs, competitions, trips and speaker events.
  • (If applicable) Lead on schemes of work, assessment or Sixth Form pathways.

What We’re Looking For

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have strong subject knowledge in Business and/or Economics.
  • Are organised, reflective and aspirational for their students.
  • Are confident teaching exam groups at GCSE and A-Level.
  • Are willing to contribute to co-curricular and enrichment activities.
