English Teacher required to work on a full-time position from January 2026 at an independent co-educational day and boarding school in Shropshire. Our client is seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a welcoming independent school in Shropshire. The successful candidate will deliver English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students to develop both their academic achievement and their confidence in communication. School Information: This independent co-educational day and boarding school educates around 300 pupils aged 3–16, with boarding available from Year 3 upwards. Located on a mature 85-acre estate just outside Ludlow, the school offers a unique rural setting with modernised facilities, including refurbished science labs, ICT suites, and specialist classrooms. The small size ensures excellent pupil–teacher ratios and the ability to give every child individual attention. Academic outcomes are consistently strong. In 2023, over 90% of Year 11 pupils achieved grades 9–4 in English, with many moving on to selective Sixth Forms and further study at top independent and grammar schools. The English department plays a central role in school life, with enrichment opportunities including debating clubs, drama productions, and public speaking competitions. Experience and Qualifications:

  • Qualified English Teacher (QTS or equivalent)
  • Ability to teach across KS3 & KS4 (experience preparing pupils for GCSE and Common Entrance desirable)
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English Literature and Language
  • A formal teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE) or equivalent
  • Legal right to work in the UK
