A secondary school with a sixth form in Braintree is seeking an English Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across a range of age groups. The school is looking for someone who can inspire pupils through literature and language while developing their analytical writing and independent thinking.
The Role
Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.
Take on KS5 classes where appropriate to experience and timetable requirements.
Develop pupils' critical reading, essay writing and discussion skills.
Prepare examination classes through targeted practice and constructive feedback.
Use assessment information to identify areas for improvement.
Contribute to enrichment activities such as reading, writing or literary discussion groups.
The Candidate
Holds QTS and has secure English subject knowledge.
Can challenge high-attaining pupils while supporting those who need additional help.
Demonstrates strong classroom management and organisation.
Is committed to improving pupil outcomes and promoting reading.
