Contract: Part-Time, Permanent – 0.8 FTE

Salary: Pro-rata MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
A secondary school in Newmarket is seeking an English Teacher for a permanent part-time position. This role would suit a teacher who enjoys developing pupils’ literacy, analytical reading and written expression while contributing to a supportive English department.
The Role
Teach English Language and Literature across KS3–KS4.
Plan lessons that develop comprehension, creative writing and analytical responses.
Prepare GCSE pupils for assessments and examinations.
Mark work consistently and provide constructive feedback.
Contribute to shared planning and departmental moderation.
The Candidate
Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Has secure subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
Can adapt teaching to meet pupils’ different learning needs.
Uses assessment to inform planning and improve progress.
Is interested in a permanent 0.8 FTE teaching commitment.
