The Role
Teach English across key stages: Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3, GCSE and post-16 groups.
Develop literacy: Support whole-school literacy initiatives and contribute to reading and writing development.
Prepare students for examinations: Plan effective revision, assessment and intervention activities.
Encourage critical thinking: Use challenging texts and discussion-based learning to develop analytical ability.
Support curriculum planning: Work collaboratively with colleagues to create coherent and engaging schemes of work.
Track progress: Use assessment information to identify learning gaps and provide targeted support.
The Candidate
English specialist: Has strong knowledge of English Language and Literature.
Qualified teacher: Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification.
