An improving 11-16 academy in Northampton is seeking a part-time English Teacher to support its drive to raise literacy standards across the school. This role would suit a teacher who is motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible difference, working within a school that is investing heavily in literacy as a whole-school priority.

You will teach English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (AQA), with a particular focus on supporting students who are working below age-related expectations in literacy. Responsibilities include contributing to small-group literacy intervention sessions, working closely with the school's SENCo to support students with additional needs, and maintaining accurate assessment records to inform whole-school data tracking.

School Information

This academy is on a clear school improvement journey, with literacy identified as a key priority by senior leadership. Staff describe a school where there is real momentum behind improvement efforts, supported by a strong programme of CPD and a leadership team that is visible and approachable. New colleagues joining the English department can expect close support as the school continues to develop its provision.
