A well-established secondary school in Durham is looking to appoint a dependable and proactive Site Supervisor to join its premises team. Working closely with the Premises Manager and School Business Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of the school site, ensuring the buildings and grounds remain well maintained, compliant and ready to support outstanding teaching and learning. You will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, monitoring contractors and ensuring the school site operates efficiently throughout the year.

Premises Team

The Premises Team is responsible for ensuring the school site remains safe, secure and fully operational throughout the year.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Opening and locking the school site each day.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Completing daily site inspections.
  • Monitoring heating, lighting and security systems.
  • Supporting health and safety compliance.
  • Preparing classrooms and halls for school activities.
  • Supervising contractors working on site.
  • Maintaining external areas including pathways and sports facilities.
  • Responding to maintenance requests from staff.
  • Maintaining compliance records and maintenance logs.
  • Assisting with deliveries and furniture movement.
  • Ensuring the school site remains clean, safe and welcoming at all times.
