We are actively seeking a creative and technically skilled Design & Technology (D&T) Teacher to join a high-achieving secondary school in the prestigious Wimbledon area of Merton. This is an outstanding opportunity for an inspiring educator to work in a well-resourced department and foster innovation and practical problem-solving skills in students.

The Role

  • Delivering high-quality, engaging lessons in Design & Technology to students up to A-Level.
  • Developing and implementing a dynamic curriculum that covers both practical making skills and theoretical knowledge, including CAD/CAM.
  • Managing and maintaining a safe and productive workshop environment, ensuring the correct use of tools and machinery.
  • Guiding students through challenging coursework and project-based learning, thoroughly preparing them for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
  • Contributing to the department's success by promoting D&T and running extracurricular clubs.

Candidate Requirements

  • A degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE.
  • Proven experience teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level, with a strong ability to teach at A-Level.
  • Proficiency in specialist software (e.g., CAD) and equipment (e.g., laser cutters, 3D printers).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a focus on practical application and safety.

Salary & Application

The salary for this position is competitive and will be paid to the MPS/UPS scale (Outer London pay scale), commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
