Salary: Paid to scale, pro-rata

An ambitious and creative 11-18 academy in the West Midlands is looking for a passionate Drama Teacher to join its thriving Performing Arts faculty on a part-time basis. This role would suit a practitioner who wants to combine high-quality classroom teaching with involvement in an active whole-school performance programme, while retaining flexibility in their working week.

You will deliver an engaging Key Stage 3 drama curriculum focused on devising, scripted work, and performance skills, alongside teaching GCSE Drama (Eduqas) to motivated groups. There will be opportunities to support the school's annual whole-school production, working alongside colleagues in Music and Dance to plan cross-curricular performance events. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing the drama studio, ensuring risk assessments are in place for practical and performance-based work, and supporting students preparing for performance assessments and exams.

School Information

This large, oversubscribed 11-18 academy has built a strong reputation for its arts provision, with a dedicated performance space and a packed calendar of productions, showcases, and community performances. The school serves a diverse student population and is known for the warmth of its staff community and the high quality of its pastoral care. Leadership is described as approachable and genuinely invested in staff development, with regular opportunities for training in both subject pedagogy and wider whole-school priorities.
