About the Role

As ECT English Teacher, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that build students’ reading, writing and oracy skills. You will be supported to teach a well-sequenced curriculum that develops:

  • Strong reading comprehension and analytical skills through explicit instruction

  • Confident extended writing through modelling, structure and purposeful practice

  • Secure vocabulary, grammar and sentence fluency across year groups

  • Exam confidence through deliberate practice, feedback and clear routines

Students study a range of texts including novels, plays, poetry and non-fiction. Lessons are designed to encourage discussion and interpretation while ensuring students develop the skills required for GCSE success, including comparison, evaluation and sustained argument.
