Previous School Safeguarding Experience Essential
A high-performing primary school in Hillingdon is looking for a dedicated Designated Safeguarding Lead to take ownership of its safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Previous school-based safeguarding experience is essential, preferably with experience as a DSL or DDSL.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher, pastoral team and external agencies to ensure concerns are dealt with promptly and appropriately.
The Role
- Managing safeguarding concerns and referrals
- Maintaining child protection files and records
- Supporting vulnerable children and families
- Liaising with social care and external agencies
- Advising staff on safeguarding matters
- Delivering safeguarding training and updates
- Monitoring safeguarding policies and procedures
- Supporting safer recruitment processes
- Preparing safeguarding reports and audits
About You
You'll need excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
A strong understanding of KCSIE, early help, child protection and safer recruitment is essential.
