About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that combine design theory with practical activities, helping students develop their technical knowledge and creative confidence. You will encourage learners to explore materials, understand manufacturing processes and apply design principles to real-world challenges.
Responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality Design and Technology lessons.
- Teaching design processes, material properties and practical production techniques.
- Organising workshop activities and ensuring tools and equipment are used safely.
- Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Adapting teaching to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.
- Maintaining positive classroom behaviour and high expectations.
- Working with colleagues to develop resources and support curriculum delivery.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.
- Confidence delivering practical lessons and maintaining workshop safety.
- Effective classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to inspire creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student achievement.
