The successful candidate will become an important member of the school's administration team, providing day-to-day support to the Senior Leadership Team, teachers, students, parents and visitors.

This is a varied role and would suit someone who is confident working in a busy office environment, able to manage several priorities at once and understands the importance of providing an efficient and professional service.

You will be responsible for handling general enquiries by telephone, email and in person, welcoming visitors to the school and ensuring the appropriate safeguarding and signing-in procedures are followed. You will also assist parents and carers with queries, directing more complex matters to the relevant member of staff when necessary.

A significant part of the role will involve maintaining accurate pupil and school records. You will update the school's management information system, process changes to pupil information and assist with admissions, leavers and transfers. Accuracy and confidentiality will be particularly important when dealing with sensitive student information.

You will also support attendance administration, prepare correspondence, produce letters and documents, arrange meetings and maintain organised filing systems. Depending on experience, you may assist with educational visits, examinations, school events and other administrative projects throughout the academic year.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with colleagues across the school and contribute to maintaining a welcoming and efficient front office.

School Administrator - Experience and Qualifications

The school is looking for someone with:

  • Previous administration experience

  • School administration experience desirable

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Confident IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office

  • Experience using a school management information system desirable
