The successful candidate will:
- Teach Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 provision.
- Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons that develop acting, performance, communication, and analytical skills.
- Introduce students to a range of theatrical styles, practitioners, texts, and performance techniques.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment where students of all abilities feel confident to participate.
- Support students preparing for GCSE and A-Level Drama qualifications.
- Develop students’ confidence, imagination, teamwork, and self-expression.
- Use a range of practical and theoretical approaches to bring Drama lessons to life.
- Contribute to school productions, workshops, clubs, trips, and wider Performing Arts opportunities.
- Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Participate fully in the wider pastoral and cultural life of the school.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Holds QTS or is currently completing teacher training and working towards QTS.
- Has a degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a related subject.
- Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Drama education.
- Can inspire young people through creative, engaging, and well-structured lessons.
- Is committed to supporting students’ personal development and academic achievement.
- Uses inclusive teaching strategies to encourage participation and confidence.
- Is reflective, enthusiastic, and keen to continue developing as a teacher.
