Data Manager

A successful Secondary School in the London Borough of Haringey is seeking an experienced and highly organised Data Manager to join its administration and support team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a data-focused professional who understands how accurate and well-managed information can support student progress, attendance and whole-school improvement.

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the school's management information systems, ensuring pupil records are accurate, secure and kept up to date. Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams and teaching staff, you will produce reliable reports that help the school monitor attainment, progress and attendance.

The role will involve maintaining the school's MIS, processing admissions and leavers, updating student information, preparing reports and supporting statutory data returns. You will also assist with assessment cycles, ensuring information is collected accurately and presented clearly to staff who need it.

A strong understanding of Excel and the ability to work confidently with large amounts of information will be important. You will need excellent attention to detail, particularly when checking data, identifying inconsistencies and resolving issues within school systems.

  • Maintain the school's management information system
  • Ensure pupil records are accurate and up to date
  • Process admissions, transfers and student leavers
  • Produce attendance and attainment reports
  • Support assessment and reporting cycles
  • Prepare data for senior leadership meetings
  • Assist with statutory school returns
  • Monitor data quality and investigate inconsistencies
  • Support staff using the school's MIS
  • Provide guidance on data entry and reporting procedures
  • Maintain appropriate data protection and GDPR procedures
  • Produce information for governors and school leaders where required
  • Support wider administrative projects involving pupil data

You will need to be comfortable working independently and managing deadlines, particularly around assessment periods, census returns and reporting cycles.

Data Manager - Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous Data Manager, School Data Officer or similar experience
  • Experience working with a school MIS
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and organisational abilities
  • Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR
  • Ability to manage deadlines effectivelyExperience within a school environment desirable

The school would particularly welcome candidates who have previously worked in a data management, school administration or MIS-focused position.

You will work closely with senior leaders, pastoral staff, teachers and the wider administration team. The role offers the opportunity to become an important part of the school's operational structure, ensuring accurate information is available when it is needed.
