About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students’ mathematical understanding, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Students follow an ambitious curriculum covering number, algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, and mathematical modelling. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, supporting them to achieve strong outcomes while encouraging independent thinking and confidence in applying mathematical concepts.

You will also contribute to enrichment opportunities including maths clubs, competitions, problem-solving activities, and academic extension programmes that encourage students to explore mathematics beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5

  • Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations

  • Develop students’ reasoning, fluency, and problem-solving skills

  • Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

  • Support maths enrichment activities and academic extension programmes

  • Foster confidence and a lifelong appreciation of mathematics

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level or Further Mathematics

  • Experience supporting maths competitions or enrichment activities

  • Ability to stretch high-achieving students

  • A proven track record of delivering strong student outcomes
