An outstanding Secondary Academy in Darlington is seeking a professional and highly organised Chemistry Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their experienced Science team. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across multiple key stages and assist senior leaders, teaching staff, and wider academic teams. Responsibilities will include maintaining student progress records, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance administration, and assisting with the organisation of practical lab experiments, chemical safety protocols, and STEM fairs.
You will also support communication with parents, students, and external agencies while ensuring that information is handled professionally and confidentially at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school environment.
The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and able to manage practical laboratory environments safely both independently and as part of a collaborative science faculty. Good IT skills and data literacy are important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.
