The Role
- Position: Year 1 Class Teacher
- Location: Croydon, South London
- Start Date: January 2026
- Contract: Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time considered
As our new Year 1 teacher, you will:
- Guide pupils as they transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1
- Deliver fun, inclusive lessons that build key skills in phonics, literacy, and numeracy
- Foster independence, confidence, and a love for learning
- Track progress and use assessment to plan next steps effectively
- Work closely with your year group partner to ensure strong provision across Year 1
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- (If applicable) Lead a subject or phase and support colleagues in driving quality across the curriculum
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified primary teacher (QTS or equivalent), ideally with KS1 experience
- A reflective and creative practitioner passionate about early education
- Someone who sets high expectations while nurturing children’s emotional and academic development
- A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
- An individual interested in contributing to wider school development and (if applicable) subject leadership
