A well-established secondary school in Croydon is looking for a practical and organised Science Technician to join the department from October.
The role will involve supporting the teaching team with practical lessons across the sciences, preparing resources and making sure laboratories and equipment are kept in good working order.
Day-to-Day Duties

Prepare equipment and materials for practical lessons.

Set up experiments and demonstrations.

Clear away and clean equipment after lessons.

Check, maintain and organise laboratory resources.

Monitor stock and help with ordering supplies.

Support teachers during practical sessions.

Follow COSHH and school health and safety requirements.
What Weβre Looking For

Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a relevant laboratory environment.

Good knowledge of laboratory equipment and practical science.

Understanding of safe working practices and chemical handling.

Organised, reliable and able to work without close supervision.

Good attention to detail.

Comfortable working in a busy secondary school.
GCSE practical experience and familiarity with Biology, Chemistry and Physics would be beneficial.
Working Hours
The role will generally follow school opening times, with a typical pattern of Monday to Thursday, 8:30amβ4:30pm, and Friday, 8:00amβ4:00pm.
