The school is seeking to appoint a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to join a well-established and successful Humanities Department. You will teach History across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 for a suitably experienced candidate. The role involves delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that develop students’ analytical, evaluative, and written skills. You will guide students through a diverse historical curriculum, encouraging debate, independent thinking, and a strong understanding of historical context. The role also includes preparing students for GCSE and A Level examinations and supporting them to achieve excellent outcomes. You will contribute to curriculum planning, assessment development, and the sharing of best practice within the department. Opportunities to support enrichment activities such as history clubs, trips, lectures, and cross-curricular projects are also available.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in History or a related subject
  • Experience teaching History at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge across KS3–KS5
  • Familiarity with GCSE specifications (A Level desirable)
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and high academic standards
