Previous School Safeguarding Experience Essential
A high-performing secondary school in Croydon is seeking an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to take responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school.
Previous school-based safeguarding experience is essential, ideally as a DSL or experienced DDSL within a secondary setting.
Youβll work closely with senior leaders, pastoral staff, families and external agencies to ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, managed and followed up appropriately.
The Role
Leading safeguarding and child protection across the school
Managing safeguarding referrals and concerns
Maintaining accurate safeguarding records
Managing a caseload of vulnerable students
Working with social care and external agencies
Making referrals where appropriate
Supporting safeguarding meetings and strategy discussions
Providing safeguarding guidance to staff
Coordinating safeguarding training
Ensuring the school remains compliant with statutory requirements
About You
Youβll need excellent knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education, strong communication skills and the confidence to deal with sensitive and complex situations.
DSL training and experience working with social care, early help, Prevent and child protection procedures are essential.
