Are you a dedicated KS1 Teacher who enjoys securing strong foundations in reading, writing and number? A vibrant primary school in Coventry is recruiting a committed KS1 Teacher to join the EYFS–KS1 phase from January 2026. The KS1 Teacher will deliver sequenced phonics, guided-reading and number-fluency sessions, run targeted small-group interventions and ensure continuity between Reception and Year 2. This KS1 Teacher role in Coventry includes induction and planning time in the weeks before January 2026 so the KS1 Teacher can begin the spring term prepared and confident.
Role responsibilities
- Plan and deliver progressive KS1 lessons that develop phonics, early reading, handwriting and number sense.
- Lead small-group interventions, measure impact and adapt approaches to secure rapid progress.
- Work with teaching assistants to scaffold learning and adapt resources for varied needs across Coventry.
- Contribute to moderation, transition planning and whole-school curriculum delivery in KS1.
- Communicate assessment information to parents and participate in review meetings.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with proven KS1 experience and clear evidence of impact as a KS1 Teacher.
- Secure phonics knowledge, assessment literacy and confident classroom practice.
- A collaborative, reflective practitioner committed to the Coventry school community.
- Available to take up post January 2026 and to attend induction and handover before January 2026.
