The Role
The successful DT Teacher will be responsible for:
- Delivering practical and theoretical Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Planning projects that develop students' creativity, technical ability and problem-solving skills.
- Teaching students about materials, manufacturing techniques and design processes.
- Ensuring practical activities are delivered safely and effectively.
- Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback.
- Supporting students to develop independent design and evaluation skills.
- Preparing GCSE students for coursework and examinations where appropriate.
- Contributing to departmental curriculum planning and development.
- Maintaining high standards of behaviour, organisation and practical safety.
Experience and Qualifications
- Design & Technology Teacher with the ability to teach KS3 and KS4.
- Strong practical and theoretical subject knowledge.
- Formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as PGCE.
- Experience delivering practical and project-based learning.
- GCSE DT teaching experience would be advantageous.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Legal ability to work within the UK.
