Opportunity to deliver challenging and engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Join a department committed to developing scientific understanding and examination success
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher to join its secondary Science provision in Colchester. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys bringing Chemistry to life and helping pupils understand the scientific principles behind the materials, reactions and processes they encounter in everyday life.
The successful candidate will deliver well-planned lessons that develop pupils' understanding of chemical structures, reactions, the periodic table, quantitative chemistry and other relevant curriculum areas. You will be expected to use a range of teaching approaches, including demonstrations, carefully planned practical investigations, questioning and structured independent work, to ensure that students develop both knowledge and confidence.
An important aspect of the role will be preparing pupils for GCSE assessments by developing their examination technique, reinforcing key terminology and identifying misconceptions before they become barriers to progress. You will use assessment information to adapt teaching, provide constructive feedback and ensure pupils are appropriately challenged.
The department offers a collaborative working environment where colleagues can exchange ideas, share resources and contribute to curriculum development. Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers, ECTs and appropriately qualified overseas teachers with a recognised formal teaching qualification.
