Pay Rate: £95 – £125 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role
A highly regarded secondary school located in the heart of Westminster is seeking a confident, adaptable, and energetic Cover Supervisor to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cover supervisor, a youth worker, or a high-achieving graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience ahead of pursuing a career in teaching (PGCE / School Direct).
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee pre-set lessons during teacher absences, ensuring students stay on task, engaged, and working in a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 during planned or emergency teacher absences.

Deliver pre-prepared work and learning materials left by subject teachers.

Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment and manage student behavior in line with school policies.

Collect completed work at the end of each lesson and pass relevant feedback to department heads.

Support pupils with questions and encourage positive engagement in learning.

Perform registration and administrative duties as required.
Candidate Requirements:

Experience: Prior experience working with young people aged 11–16 (e.g., Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, or Tutor).

Skills: Strong classroom presence, excellent communication, and confident behavior management skills.

Education: A university degree is advantageous, though relevant experience is equally valued.

Safeguarding: Must hold a valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to process a new one through Wayman Education.
