A varied temporary caretaking opportunity is available for someone with a practical, can-do approach.
A network of primary schools across Chippenham and Tetbury is seeking a Temporary Caretaker/Site Technician to provide cover until December 2026.
Rather than being based at one school, you'll work across several local primary sites, supporting with general maintenance, security and day-to-day caretaking duties. It's an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, is confident working independently and likes solving practical problems.
The position is being offered on a full-time basis, with approximately 30β35 hours per week, and a van and tools will be provided for travel between sites.
What You'll Be Doing
Your day-to-day work will vary depending on the needs of each school and may include:

General caretaking and site maintenance

Minor repairs and practical DIY

Basic decorating and upkeep

Opening, securing and checking school buildings

Supporting health and safety checks

Maintaining outdoor areas and grounds

Responding to unexpected maintenance requirements

Moving between schools to provide additional site support
Who This Would Suit
This role would suit someone with previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities or a similar practical environment.
School experience isn't essential. What's important is that you're reliable, hands-on, able to work without constant supervision and comfortable travelling between different sites.
